Planting Potato On The Land Of The Moon
Chinese scientists take steps to cultivate potato on moon land. They also made preparations for this step as part of the upcoming moon mission.
According to the Chongqing Morning Post, the BBC Online report said Chinese astronomers will launch moon expedition in the name of Chang'e-Four next year. At that time the potatoes will be sealed in small cylinders. There will be a mini-ecosystem in the cylinder. There will also be a small pimple larvae.
The chief designer of this project and professor G Jingzin of Chongqing University said that before the cultivation of potato on the moon land, the test will be conducted. For this, pest would be sent before.
China Radio International says that if the potato plants will survive on the moon land, scientists are planning to send pests to the moon.
According to the International Business Times report, the mini ecosystem capsule will weigh three kilograms. Its length is 18 centimeters and the width is 16 centimeters. Carbohydrates will be formed in the cylinders of the egg from the larva. And the oxygen will come out of the seedlings. Thus, the exchange of carbon and oxygen in the mini ecosystem capsules will be carried out. The whole process of potato cultivation is also being considered by scientists to live broadcast.
We are hopeful, it will create awareness about the environment and people's interest in space will increase, said Xi Jinzin.
This is not the first attempt to harvest crops outside of the world. Earlier, in March, Peru's International Potato Center (CIP) has started experimenting with whether NASA's Ames Research Center will be able to cultivate potatoes in a Mangal.
